How to use this tool
Set the pace that suits the movement you want to show. The Video Speed Changer slows a clip for a closer look or speeds a sequence into a more compact presentation. Choose one of five playback rates, check the calculated duration and create an MP4 with the new timing, then review both picture and sound before downloading.
- 01
Add and review the source
Choose a playable video and inspect the action you want to retime. Note the source duration so you can compare the new length after selecting a rate.
- 02
Select a speed
Choose 0.25× or 0.5× for slower motion, or 1.5×, 2× or 4× for a faster sequence. Keep the calculated output duration within 120 seconds.
- 03
Export and compare the pace
Create the MP4 and watch the full result with sound. Compare another rate when needed, then download the version that makes the action easiest to follow.
Slow motion gives an action more screen time
Choose 0.5× to double the duration or 0.25× to make the clip four times as long. This can help with a short gesture, a product movement or a demonstration step that deserves closer inspection. Review the actual result to see how the source footage looks at the slower pace.
Faster playback makes a sequence more compact
Use 1.5×, 2× or 4× to reduce the time occupied by a complete sequence. A setup, repetitive motion or short process can be easier to fit into a concise update this way. Check that the important stages remain recognizable at the selected rate, especially when viewers need to understand an instructional detail.
Calculate the new length before exporting
Output duration is the source duration divided by the selected rate. A ten-second clip becomes twenty seconds at 0.5× or five seconds at 2×. The displayed estimate helps you choose a rate that fits the 120-second output range before starting the export.
Review audio along with the new movement
When the source has an audio track, the export adjusts audio tempo alongside the picture. Listen to spoken words and music while playing the completed MP4. For a picture-only asset that will receive another soundtrack, use Mute Video as a separate step after preparing the pace you want.
Frequently asked questions
What is a video speed changer?
A Video Speed Changer retimes a clip at a chosen rate and creates a new video file. SocQ provides five speed options, a duration estimate and MP4 export.
How do I speed up a video?
Add the source and choose 1.5×, 2× or 4×. Check the new duration, export the MP4 and review the result before downloading.
How do I slow a video down?
Choose 0.5× or 0.25× and check the longer output duration. Create the export and inspect how the source movement looks at the selected pace.
How is the output duration calculated?
Divide source duration by the speed rate. For example, twelve seconds at 2× becomes six seconds, while twelve seconds at 0.5× becomes twenty-four seconds.
Will the audio change speed too?
Yes, when an audio track is present. The export changes audio tempo to follow the new timing, so review speech and music in the processed result.
How long can the result be?
Keep the calculated output within 120 seconds. The source may be up to 100 MB and ten minutes, with the chosen rate determining the resulting length.
Can I save the changed speed as a new file?
Yes. The tool creates a new MP4 using the selected speed. Download the reviewed result and keep the source available for another version.
What should I inspect in a slowed-down clip?
Watch the complete action and check the motion, on-screen text and audio. Choose the rate that gives important details enough time while keeping the sequence comfortable to follow.
