How do I open an AVIF file?

Does AVIF to JPG lose quality?
At the default of 90, photos look virtually the same. For graphics with small text, raise Quality (%) toward 100 for the crispest edges.
Will the JPG be larger than the AVIF?
Usually, yes. AVIF compresses very efficiently, so the same picture as JPG takes more space. The result shows the exact size so you can choose the quality that suits you.
What happens to transparent areas?
They’re filled with the Background color you choose, white by default. For a transparent result, use the WebP to PNG converter, which also accepts AVIF.
