How to use this tool

Images saved from websites often arrive as WebP, and some editors, print services and upload forms still won’t open them. This WebP to JPG converter turns them into standard JPG files at the same size, with a quality setting and a color to fill any transparent areas. It’s handy for creators and marketers who reuse web images in documents, slides or older software.

  1. 01

    Choose your WebP images

Click Choose files or drop up to 20 images onto the tool. WebP, JPG, PNG and AVIF files are accepted, each up to 30 MB and 40 megapixels.

  2. 02

    Set quality and background

Enter a value in Quality (%); 85 is the default and lower numbers give smaller files. Pick a Background color, because JPG can’t store transparency and any see-through areas get filled with it.

  3. 03

    Check the result and download

The JPG results update as you change settings. Check each JPG’s size and dimensions, then click Download or Download ZIP for the batch.

Why convert WebP to JPG

WebP keeps web pages light, but support outside the browser is uneven. • Open images in older photo editors, print kiosks or office apps • Attach pictures to emails and forms that only accept JPG • Reuse product or social images in slides and documents • Send files to clients who can’t preview WebP

Choosing quality and background

• 85–95 keeps detail for product shots and text-heavy graphics • 60–80 gives smaller files for quick sharing or web previews • Values below 10 are treated as 10 • The default background is deep teal (#233b45); switch to white (#ffffff) for most documents • Check logo and cutout edges against the new background before you share

What changes in the JPG

• Width and height match the original • Transparent pixels become the background color you picked • Animated WebP files become a single still image • EXIF data isn’t carried over, because the image is redrawn before saving

Frequently asked questions

What is a WebP to JPG converter?

A WebP to JPG converter re-saves images from Google’s WebP format as JPG, the format almost every app and device can open. SocQ’s version works in your browser, keeps the original dimensions and lets you set the JPG quality and a background color.

How do I convert WebP to JPG?

1. Click Choose files and select up to 20 WebP images. 2. Set Quality (%) and pick a Background color. 3. Check the JPG results, which update as you change settings. 4. Click Download for one file or Download ZIP for all of them.

What happens to transparent areas when I convert to JPG?

JPG has no transparency, so every see-through pixel is filled with the Background color. The default is a deep teal, so change it to white or your brand color and the result updates right away. To keep transparency, use the JPG to PNG converter, which also accepts WebP files.

What quality setting should I use?

Start with the default of 85, which balances detail and file size for most photos. Raise it toward 95 for product shots, small text or graphics, and lower it when you only need a quick preview. Compare the KB size shown under each result.

Can I convert animated WebP files?

You can open them, but the JPG holds only one still frame, because JPG doesn’t support animation. To keep the motion, convert the file to GIF or MP4 with a dedicated tool instead.

Can I convert several WebP images at once?

Yes. Add up to 20 files in one batch. The same quality and background settings apply to every image, and Download ZIP saves all the JPG files together.

What are the file size limits?

Each image can be up to 30 MB and 40 megapixels, with up to 20 images per batch. The picker accepts WebP, JPG, PNG and AVIF files, so you can also use it to re-save other formats as JPG.

Are my WebP files uploaded?

No. Decoding and JPG encoding happen in your browser, so the images stay on your device and aren’t sent to SocQ’s servers. Closing the tab clears the results.

Is this WebP to JPG converter free?

Yes. There’s no account to create and no watermark on the JPG files. You can convert as many batches as you need, 20 images at a time.

Why does my JPG look different from the WebP?

JPG uses lossy compression, so low quality values can add blocky edges or soft detail. Transparent areas also change to the background color you chose. Raise Quality (%), pick a matching background, and the result updates automatically.
