How to use this caption generator
- 01
Describe your post
In a sentence or two, write what’s in your photo or video, who it’s for and what you want to say. For example: “Our new mug comes in blue and sand. Ask people which color they like.”
- 02
Choose your options
Pick a tone (friendly, professional, playful or thoughtful) and a length. Tick Include a few emojis or Add hashtags if you want them, then click Generate captions. The first time, the caption writer downloads to your browser once; keep the page open until it’s ready.
- 03
Pick, edit and copy
You get 3 different captions in a few seconds. Change any words right in the box, tap Copy next to the one you like and paste it into Instagram.
How the AI caption generator works
You describe your post in your own words. A compact AI model running in your browser turns that description into 3 captions written as if by you, speaking to your followers: one opens with the main subject, one with the scene or feeling, and one ends with a question or call to action to get replies. It’s told to use only the details you give it, but always check names, dates and facts before you post.
What makes a good Instagram caption
• A strong first line. Only about the first 125 characters show before “…more”, so put the most interesting part first. • Real details. A color, a place or a small story makes a caption feel personal. • A reason to reply. End with a question like “Which color would you pick?” • A few relevant hashtags. Instagram allows up to 5 per post, so choose specific ones.
Captions for photos, Reels, carousels and products
For a photo, describe what’s in it and why it matters to you. For a Reel, say what happens in the video. For a carousel, list what the slides show. For a product, add its name, a key feature and what you want people to do, such as visit your shop or pick a color. This page writes English captions; switch the site to Chinese for Chinese captions.
Private, free and unlimited
The caption writer runs on your own device, so your description is never uploaded and there’s no limit on how many captions you write. There’s no app to install and no account to create. The first time you use it, your browser downloads the AI model once and saves it, so later visits start in seconds. It works best in a recent Chrome or Edge on a computer.
Frequently asked questions
What is an Instagram caption generator?
An Instagram caption generator is a tool that writes the text that goes under your photo or video. With SocQ, you describe your post, pick a tone and length, and AI writes 3 captions for you to choose from. Edit any of them and copy your favorite into Instagram.
Is this Instagram caption generator free?
Yes. It’s completely free, you don’t need to sign up or log in, and there’s no daily limit. The captions are written by an AI model that runs in your own browser, so you can generate as many as you like.
How do I write a description that gets better captions?
Answer three questions: what’s in the photo or video, who is it for, and what do you want people to do or feel? Add one or two real details, such as a color, a place or a name. For example: “Sunset hike at Mount Tam with my dog. Ask followers for their favorite trail.” Short, specific descriptions work best.
What do I need to use the caption generator?
A recent Chrome or Edge browser with graphics acceleration turned on, on a computer from the last few years. The AI runs on your device’s graphics chip using a browser feature called WebGPU. Some phones and older computers don’t support it yet; if yours doesn’t, the page tells you. The first use downloads the model once, so use Wi-Fi if you can.
How long should an Instagram caption be?
Instagram allows up to 2,200 characters, but only about the first 125 show in the feed before “…more”. Choose Short for a one-line caption, Medium for one or two sentences, or Longer for a short paragraph. Whatever the length, make the first line count.
How many hashtags should I use on Instagram?
Instagram allows up to 5 hashtags per post or Reel. Tick Add hashtags and the generator adds 2 to 4 relevant hashtags on their own line at the end of each caption. You can also name the ones you want in your description, like “use #handmade”.
Can it add emojis to my captions?
Yes. Tick Include a few emojis and each caption gets an emoji that fits the post. Leave it unticked and the captions won’t have any emojis. You can always add or remove emojis yourself before you copy.
How do I make the captions sound like me?
Choose the tone closest to how you talk, and add a line to your description such as “Keep it casual, like texting a friend” or “Write it in the first person.” Then edit the draft you like best: swap in words you’d use and add a personal detail. Small edits make a caption feel like yours.
Can it write Instagram captions in Chinese?
Yes. This page writes captions in English. For captions in Simplified Chinese, switch the site language to Chinese and use the same tool. You can describe your post in either language.
Is my description saved?
No. The AI model runs on your own device, so your description and captions stay in your browser and aren’t sent to SocQ or anyone else. The only thing downloaded is the model itself, the first time you use the tool.
