How to use this tool
PNG keeps text and line art sharp, which makes it a good format for slides, carousels and review copies of a PDF. Choose a PDF, set how large the images should be, and every page becomes its own numbered PNG that you can preview and download. The file is rendered in your browser and never uploaded.
- 01
Choose your PDF
Click Choose files and select a PDF of up to 30 MB and 50 pages. Remove the password from protected files first.
- 02
Set the render scale
Enter a Render scale from 0.5 to 3. The default of 2 doubles the page size in pixels, which suits screens and social posts.
- 03
Create result and download
Click Create result to preview every page. Save single pages with the icon next to each one, or use Download ZIP to get them all; a one-page PDF shows a single Download button.
Choose the right render scale
Image size equals the PDF page size in points multiplied by the scale. For an A4 page of 595 × 842 points: • 1 → 595 × 842 px, about 72 DPI, for quick previews • 2 → 1190 × 1684 px, about 144 DPI, for screens and social posts • 3 → 1785 × 2526 px, about 216 DPI, for small text and zooming in Higher scales make larger files and take longer, so lower the scale if a big document struggles.
Turn a PDF into an Instagram or LinkedIn carousel
LinkedIn accepts a PDF as a document post, but Instagram needs images, so convert the pages first. A4 and US Letter pages are taller than the portrait shapes Instagram accepts, so they get cropped. Design your slides at 4:5, such as 1080 × 1350, before you export the PDF, then upload the PNGs in page-number order.
Limits and what isn’t supported
• Up to 30 MB and 50 pages per PDF • All pages are converted; there’s no page-range picker • Output is PNG only, not JPG or WebP • Password-protected PDFs can’t be opened • One PDF at a time
Why PNG instead of JPG
PNG is lossless, so text, logos and thin lines stay crisp without the blurry edges JPG compression can add. The trade-off is file size, since a page full of photos is usually much larger as PNG. If you need smaller files, convert the PNGs to JPG or WebP afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
What is a PDF to PNG converter?
A PDF to PNG converter renders each page of a PDF as a PNG image. You can then use the pages where a PDF won’t work, such as an Instagram carousel, a slide deck or a chat message. This one runs in your browser, so the PDF stays on your device.
How do I convert a PDF to PNG?
1. Click Choose files and select your PDF. 2. Set Render scale, or keep the default of 2. 3. Click Create result and wait for the pages to appear. 4. Click Download ZIP for all pages, or the download icon on a single page.
How do I get high-resolution PNGs from a PDF?
Raise Render scale to 3, the maximum. An A4 page then comes out at 1785 × 2526 pixels, roughly 216 DPI. For 300 DPI print images, use a desktop PDF app, because this converter stops at scale 3.
Can I convert only some pages?
The converter always renders every page, up to 50. After it finishes, download just the pages you need with the icon next to each preview, or delete the extra files from the ZIP.
Is there a file size or page limit?
Yes. Each PDF can be up to 30 MB and 50 pages. For longer documents, split the PDF into smaller parts with a PDF editor and convert each part.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
No. The converter can’t open encrypted PDFs that ask for a password. Open the file in a PDF reader you trust, save an unprotected copy and convert that copy instead.
Why does the text look slightly different in the PNG?
If the PDF doesn’t embed its fonts, the browser substitutes similar ones, so spacing or style can shift a little. Exporting the PDF with fonts embedded, which most design and office apps do by default, avoids this.
What are the PNG files named?
Pages are numbered in order as page-001.png, page-002.png and so on, so they sort correctly in any folder. When you download everything, the archive is named pdf-to-png.zip.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened and rendered with PDF.js in your browser, and neither the file nor the images are sent to SocQ. Closing or refreshing the page clears everything.
Is the PDF to PNG converter free?
Yes. It’s free with no signup, no watermark and no daily limit. Convert as many PDFs as you like, one file at a time.
For developers
Pair your visuals with public social data
SocQ APIs fetch public posts and profiles from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn, so you can see how public carousel and document posts perform before you plan your own. Private analytics such as reach and saves still come from each platform’s insights.
