How to use this tool
Reversed clips make everyday actions look surprising, like spilled coffee jumping back into the cup. This tool takes the section you choose, up to 30 seconds, and plays its frames from last to first in a new MP4. Backward audio rarely sounds usable, so the result is silent and ready for music afterward.

Ideas for reverse videos
• Un-spill a drink, un-pour sand or rebuild a toppled stack • Make a jump down look like a leap back up • Reveal an outfit or room makeover in reverse • Create a quick rewind transition between two shots
How the settings work
• Start (seconds): where the reversed segment begins in the original • End (seconds): where it stops; leave it empty to use the end of the video • The segment can be up to 30 seconds long • Only the selected part is exported, played from its last frame to its first
Tips for TikTok, Reels and Shorts
• Clear, one-direction motion like throwing, pouring or jumping reads best backward • Keep reversed moments short, around 2–5 seconds • The export is silent, so add music or a trending sound in the app • Film on a tripod so the background stays steady
Formats and limits
• Input: MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI and other common formats, up to 100 MB and 10 minutes • Reversed segment: up to 30 seconds per export • The output has no audio track • No boomerang (forward then backward) or speed controls • Output: MP4 at the original resolution • Speed depends on your device; the first run downloads the video engine once
Frequently asked questions
What is a reverse video tool?
A reverse video tool plays footage backward, so the last frame comes first and actions seem to undo themselves. This one reverses a section of your clip of up to 30 seconds and saves it as a new MP4 without sound.
How do I reverse a video online for free?
1. Click Choose files and pick your video. 2. Enter Start (seconds) and End (seconds) for the part to reverse. 3. Click Create file. 4. Play the result and click Download.
Can I reverse the whole video?
Yes, if it’s 30 seconds or shorter. Set Start to 0 and leave End empty, or enter the clip’s length. For a longer video, reverse it in 30-second pieces or pick the moment that matters most.
Why is there no sound in the reversed video?
The tool drops the audio track because speech and music played backward usually sound like noise. Add a soundtrack afterward with SocQ’s Add Audio to Video tool, or pick a sound inside TikTok, Instagram or YouTube.
Does the result include the rest of my video?
No. Only the segment between Start and End is exported, and it plays in reverse. To place it inside a longer edit, join it with your other clips in a video editor or merge tool.
Can I make a boomerang that plays forward and then backward?
Not in one step, because this tool only outputs the reversed part. Join the original segment and the reversed one with a video merger to get a forward-then-backward loop.
Is it free, and is there a watermark?
Yes, it’s free and needs no account or signup. The reversed MP4 carries no SocQ watermark or logo, so you can post it to TikTok, Reels or Shorts as it is.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Reversing runs with FFmpeg in your browser, so the frames are processed on your device and the clip isn’t sent to SocQ. On the first run your browser downloads the video engine once.
What formats and lengths are supported?
You can open MP4, WebM, MOV, MKV, AVI and other common video files up to 100 MB and 10 minutes, and reverse up to 30 seconds of each per export. The result is an H.264 MP4 at the source resolution.
Can I reverse a video on my iPhone or Android phone?
Yes. Open this page in your phone’s browser, pick a clip from your gallery and create the file. Reversing holds many frames in memory at once, so short segments work best on phones and older devices.
