How to use this tool

Clients and teammates often struggle to judge a post from a plain text document. This social media mockup generator places your name, headline, post text and optional image into three simplified feed cards styled after LinkedIn, Facebook and X, side by side in one PNG. It’s meant for content calendars, pitch decks and approval rounds, not for imitating real accounts.

  1. 01

    Fill in the post details

Type the account name in Creator name, a short line in Headline and the caption in Post text. The headline appears under the name on the LinkedIn-style card and in the link box on the Facebook-style card.

  2. 02

Add an image and pick a width

Optionally click Choose files to add one JPG, PNG or WebP image. Choose Desktop or Phone in Preview size to change the width of every card.

  3. 03

    Expand, check and download

The preview updates as you type. Long text ends in “…” until you click Show full post; when it looks right, click Download to save the PNG.

How to make a mockup clients can approve quickly

• Use the real account name and final caption so feedback focuses on the content • Lead with a strong first sentence, since feeds hide the rest of long posts • Add the actual image or a close draft so text and visual are judged together • Make one mockup per version and name the files clearly, such as “launch-v2.png”

What the mockup shows, and what it doesn’t

The cards are simplified layouts styled after each platform, not exact copies of their apps. • Each card shows an initial-letter avatar, the name, a second line, the post text and your image • The X-style card has no handle field here, so its second line stays blank; the Tweet Screenshot Generator adds one • The Facebook-style card shows “Sponsored”, your headline and a “Learn more” button • Likes, comments, timestamps and verified badges aren’t included • Platforms change layouts often and truncate text differently on each device, so check the native composer before publishing

Where to use your social media mockup

• Pitch decks and proposals for new clients • Content calendars and approval threads in Slack or email • Portfolio pieces that show how a campaign would appear in feeds Use your own or client-approved content, and don’t present a mockup as a real, published post.

Frequently asked questions

What is a social media mockup generator?

A social media mockup generator shows how a post might look in a feed before it’s published. SocQ’s version renders your text and image as LinkedIn-, Facebook- and X-style cards side by side, so you can review one post across three layouts at once.

How do I create a social media post mockup?

1. Enter Creator name, Headline and Post text. 2. Optionally click Choose files to add the post image. 3. Pick Desktop or Phone in Preview size. 4. Check the live preview, then click Download to save the PNG.

Which platforms does the mockup show?

One PNG contains three cards styled after LinkedIn, Facebook and X, all using the same name, text and image. For a single platform with platform-specific fields, SocQ also has LinkedIn Post Preview, Facebook Ad Preview Tool and Tweet Screenshot Generator.

Is the mockup an exact copy of each platform?

No. The cards are simplified approximations with platform colors and a familiar structure, not pixel-perfect app screens. Real feeds vary by device, app version and account type, so use the mockup for review and confirm the final look in each platform’s composer.

What’s the difference between Desktop and Phone?

Desktop draws each card 760 px wide and Phone draws it 420 px wide, so text wraps more often on Phone. The collapsed view also shortens long text at about 260 characters on Desktop and 155 on Phone; Show full post displays everything.

Can I download the mockup for a client presentation?

Yes. Click Download to save the PNG and drop it into slides, a PDF proposal or an approval thread. With Desktop selected, the image is about 2,280 px wide, which stays sharp on large screens.

Is the social media mockup generator free?

Yes. It’s free to use without an account, and the PNG has no SocQ logo or watermark. Create as many versions as your review needs.

Is my post content uploaded?

No. The mockup is drawn in your browser, so your text and image stay on your device and aren’t sent to SocQ or to any social platform. Nothing gets posted on your behalf.

Can I add likes, comments or a profile photo?

Not in this tool. Each card uses a colored circle with the first letter of the name as the avatar, and engagement counts aren’t shown. That keeps the mockup focused on the copy and image you want approved.

Is it okay to make mockups of other people’s accounts?

Use mockups for your own brand or for clients who have approved the content. Posts that appear to come from real people or companies without permission can mislead viewers and may break platform rules. Label concepts as drafts when you share them.
