How to use this tool

Sometimes you need a picture of a post that doesn’t exist yet: a draft for client approval, a slide in a pitch deck or a mockup for a design review. This generator draws an X-style post card from the display name, handle and text you type, with an optional attached image. It’s a mockup, not a capture of a real post, so use it for your own content and clearly labeled examples.

  1. 01

    Fill in the post details

Type the Display name, the Handle with its @ and the Post text. Post text is required, and the avatar shows the first letter of the display name.

  2. 02

Add an image and pick a size

Click Choose files to attach a JPG, PNG or WebP image to the post, or skip it. Set Preview size to Desktop for a 760-pixel-wide card or Phone for 420 pixels.

  3. 03

    Check the preview and download

Check the live preview, use Show full post if long text is cut off, then click Download to save the PNG.

What the mockup includes

• A round avatar with the first letter of the display name • The display name in bold with the handle below • Your post text, wrapped to fit the card • An optional attached image under the text It doesn’t add a profile photo, verified badge, timestamp, like, repost or view counts, or a dark theme, so the card reads as a mockup rather than a pixel-perfect copy of X.

Desktop and phone previews

Desktop renders a card 760 pixels wide and Phone a card 420 pixels wide. Like a feed, long text is shortened to about 260 characters on desktop and 155 on phone, ending with “…”. Click Show full post to render every line and Show less to go back. Changing Preview size redraws the preview at the new width right away.

Use tweet mockups responsibly

A mockup can look convincing, so only show words the named person or brand actually wrote or approved. • Use your own account details, or clearly fictional names like the example • Label mockups as drafts or examples when you share them • Don’t put words in a real person’s mouth or pass a mockup off as a real post Fake posts presented as real can mislead people and may break platform rules and the law.

Good ways to use a post mockup

• Get client approval on post copy before it’s published • Show content ideas in a pitch deck or social media plan • Turn one of your own posts into an image for Instagram, LinkedIn or a newsletter • Test how a line of text wraps on a phone-width card

Frequently asked questions

What is a tweet screenshot generator?

A tweet screenshot generator creates an image that looks like a post on X from details you type. Nothing is fetched from X or published there; the card is drawn from your text in the browser. People use it for drafts, presentations and design mockups.

How do I make a tweet screenshot?

1. Enter a display name, @handle and post text. 2. Optionally click Choose files to add an image. 3. Pick Desktop or Phone in Preview size. 4. Check the live preview, then click Download to save the PNG.

Is this a real screenshot of a post on X?

No. It’s a mockup built from the text you enter, not a capture of an existing post. To save an actual post, open it on X and use your device’s screenshot shortcut.

Can I turn an existing tweet URL into an image?

No. The generator doesn’t read links or connect to X. If it’s your own post, copy the text into Post text; for anyone else’s post, take a regular screenshot of the original.

Can I add a verified badge, likes or a timestamp?

No. The card shows only the avatar letter, name, handle, text and an optional image. Leaving those details out keeps the image clearly a mockup rather than something that passes for a live post.

Can I add a picture to the post?

Yes. Click Choose files and pick a JPG, PNG or WebP of up to 30 MB. The image is cropped to fill a wide frame under the text, so keep the main subject near the center.

Why is my post text cut off?

The preview shortens long posts to about 260 characters on desktop and 155 on phone, the way a feed often does. Click Show full post to include the whole text, and the card grows taller to fit.

Is it OK to make a fake tweet from a celebrity or another person?

Avoid it. A realistic post that someone never wrote can spread as misinformation, hurt their reputation and break X’s rules on impersonation and misleading media, and in some places it can lead to legal claims. Use your own details or obviously fictional names, and label the image as a mockup.

Are my text and images uploaded?

No. The card is drawn on a canvas in your browser, and your text and image aren’t sent to SocQ or stored. Refreshing the page clears the preview.

Is the tweet screenshot generator free?

Yes. It’s free with no signup or login, and the PNG has no watermark. Create as many versions as you need to compare wording.
