How to use this tool
YouTube lets you add clickable end screen elements in the last 5–20 seconds of a video, but they look messy over random footage. This maker creates a 1920 × 1080 end screen background with two video boxes, a round subscribe spot, a headline and a call to action, so the elements you add in YouTube Studio have a clean place to sit. Put the PNG at the end of your edit, then line up the elements in Studio.
- 01
Write a closing headline and call to action
Type a short line for the top of the screen in Headline, such as “Watch next”, and a call to action for the bottom in Subtitle or attribution, like “Subscribe for weekly pottery tips”.
- 02
Choose the background and line color
Set Background for the solid fill and Text / light color for the outlines and text. High contrast, like cream on dark teal, makes the boxes easy to see behind the clickable elements.
- 03
Download and add it to your video
Check the live preview and download the 1920 × 1080 PNG. Place it in your video editor for the final 5–20 seconds, upload the video, then add end screen elements over the boxes in YouTube Studio.
What the end screen template includes
• A 1920 × 1080 PNG (16:9), the standard size for YouTube videos. • Two rectangle outlines on the left and right for video or playlist elements. • A circle in the center for the subscribe element, which YouTube shows as your channel picture. • Your headline near the top and a call to action near the bottom. The background is a solid color; photos aren’t used in this layout, so the boxes stay clear.
YouTube end screen rules to know
• End screens can appear in the last 5–20 seconds of a video. • The video must be at least 25 seconds long. • You can add up to four elements on standard 16:9 videos; other aspect ratios may allow fewer. • Elements include videos, playlists, a subscribe button, channels and, for eligible channels, approved links. • End screens aren’t available on videos set as made for kids.
How to add end screen elements in YouTube Studio
1. Open YouTube Studio on a computer and select Content. 2. Click the video, then choose Editor > End screen. 3. Add elements such as Video, Playlist and Subscribe. 4. Drag each element over the matching box on your background and adjust the timing. 5. Click Save, then watch the end of the video to check alignment.
Tips for end screens that get clicks
• Say the call to action out loud as well as showing it on screen. • Point to one “best for viewer” video and one recent upload. • Keep the template on screen for at least 10 seconds so viewers have time to choose. • Use your channel colors so the outro feels like part of the video.
Frequently asked questions
What is a YouTube end screen?
A YouTube end screen is the closing section of a video, shown in the last 5–20 seconds, where clickable elements promote other videos, a playlist or your channel. This tool makes the background image that sits behind those elements, with boxes showing where to place them.
What size is a YouTube end screen template?
Make it the same size as your video, which is 1920 × 1080 pixels for a standard 1080p upload. This tool exports a 1920 × 1080 PNG. If you edit in 4K, scale the image up in your editor; the boxes keep their 16:9 layout.
How long should a YouTube end screen be?
YouTube allows end screens in the last 5 to 20 seconds of a video. Many creators use 10–20 seconds so viewers have time to read and click. Your video must be at least 25 seconds long to add an end screen.
How many elements can I put on an end screen?
Up to four elements on a standard 16:9 video, and fewer on some other aspect ratios. This template has spots for two videos and one subscribe button, leaving room for one extra element if you want it.
Are the boxes on the template clickable?
No. The PNG is only a background; the boxes show where to put things. The clickable parts come from end screen elements you add in YouTube Studio, which you drag over the boxes so they line up.
How do I line the elements up with the template?
In YouTube Studio’s end screen editor, drag each element over its box and resize it to match. The video player preview shows your background underneath, so you can see the outlines while you adjust. Check the result on a phone as well.
Can I use a photo as the end screen background?
Not in this layout. The end screen template uses a solid background color so the video boxes and subscribe circle stay easy to see. If you want footage behind the elements, place the PNG over your clip in your video editor and lower its opacity.
Why can’t I add an end screen to my video?
Common reasons are that the video is shorter than 25 seconds, it’s set as made for kids, or you’re using YouTube Studio on a phone, where end screen editing is limited. Open Studio on a computer and check the video’s settings.
Is my end screen uploaded to SocQ?
No. The template is drawn on a canvas in your browser and downloads directly from the page. Nothing you type is sent to a SocQ server.
Is this YouTube end screen maker free?
Yes. It’s free with no signup, and no watermark is added. Make a version for each series or season of your channel if you like.
