How to use this tool
To change audio speed, choose a file, enter a speed from 0.25× to 4×, pick Keep pitch or Change pitch and press Create file to download the new MP3. Speed up a podcast or lecture to 1.5×, slow a song to 0.75× to learn a part, or make a sped-up or slowed song edit. Keep pitch holds voices and notes at their natural pitch; Change pitch moves pitch with speed, like a tape or a turntable.

Keep pitch vs change pitch
• Keep pitch: time-stretches the sound, so voices still sound like the speaker and songs stay in the same key; best for lectures, podcasts and practice • Change pitch: plays the sound faster or slower like a turntable, so pitch rises or falls with speed; the classic “sped up” and “slowed” song edits on TikTok and YouTube Doubling the speed with Change pitch raises the pitch by an octave.
Common speeds
• 0.5×: transcribing fast speech or learning a guitar solo note by note • 0.75×: practicing a song at a comfortable tempo • 0.8× with Change pitch: a slowed, deeper version of a song • 1.25× with Change pitch: a “sped up” TikTok or Reels edit • 1.5×: podcasts and lectures, still easy to follow • 2×: skimming long voice notes and recordings
Length after the change
The new length is the original divided by the speed. A 9-minute lecture at 1.5× lasts 6 minutes; a 3-minute song at 0.75× lasts 4 minutes. For music with Keep pitch, speeds from 0.5× upward sound the most natural. To match a song to a target tempo, measure its BPM with the tap BPM tool first.
