How to add a ringtone to your iPhone
• With a computer: connect the iPhone, open Finder on a Mac (or Apple Devices / iTunes on Windows), and drag the .m4r file onto the iPhone in the sidebar. It appears in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone. • On the iPhone only: save the MP3 version to Files, open it in GarageBand, then use Share > Ringtone. iPhone ringtones can be up to 40 seconds; text tones up to 30 seconds.
How to set a custom ringtone on Android
Download the MP3, then open Settings > Sound & vibration > Phone ringtone and choose it from your files. On some phones you first move the MP3 into the Ringtones folder with the Files app. To give one person their own sound, set the ringtone for that contact in the Contacts app.
Tips for a great ringtone
• Start right on the beat or the first word of the chorus • 20–30 seconds covers a call before it goes to voicemail • Pick a part that is loud and clear, so you hear it in a busy place • Keep the fade on so the loop back to the start sounds smooth Want to trim a clip for a video instead?
