How to use this tool

Upside down text uses Unicode characters that look like rotated letters, written in reverse order so the whole line reads correctly when you turn your phone around. It’s a quick way to make a comment, bio line or caption stand out. Type your text to get an upside down, mirrored and reversed version, each ready to copy.

  1. 01

    Type your text

Enter a word or a few lines. Letters, numbers and common punctuation all have upside down look-alikes.

  2. 02

    Pick a flip

Upside down rotates the text 180°, Mirrored flips it left to right, and Reversed only changes the order of the characters.

  3. 03

    Copy and paste

Press Copy and paste the flipped text into a post, bio, comment, chat or game name.

How flipping works

The generator swaps each character for a Unicode look-alike that appears rotated: “a” becomes “ɐ”, “e” becomes “ǝ”, and “?” becomes “¿”. It then reverses the order of the characters and lines, so the result reads correctly from the other side.

Upside down, mirrored and reversed

• Upside down rotates text 180°: it is flipped vertically and reads right to left. • Mirrored flips letters left to right, as if seen in a mirror, using look-alike characters where they exist. • Reversed keeps every letter the same and only writes them in reverse order, like “olleh” for “hello”.

Look-alike characters

Most lowercase letters have a close upside down twin, and capitals and symbols use the nearest look-alike from other alphabets, so their exact shape follows the font of the app you paste into. Letters such as “o”, “s”, “x” and “z” look the same when rotated and stay as they are, and emoji keep their original form.

Where it works

Flipped text is ordinary Unicode, so it works in Instagram and TikTok captions and bios, X posts, Discord, WhatsApp, YouTube comments and most games. Use it for playful lines and keep searchable details, such as links and product names, in regular text.

Frequently asked questions

How do I flip text upside down?

Type your text in the box and copy the Upside down row. Paste it wherever you want the flipped text.

Does upside down text work on Instagram and TikTok?

Yes. It works in captions, bios and comments because it’s made of normal Unicode characters.

What is the difference between upside down and mirrored text?

Upside down text is rotated 180°, so it is flipped top to bottom and reads right to left. Mirrored text is flipped only left to right, like a reflection.

How do I write text backwards?

Copy the Reversed row. It keeps every character unchanged and writes them in reverse order.

Why do some letters look odd?

A few capitals and symbols are drawn with the closest look-alike from another alphabet, so the exact shape follows the font of the app you paste into.

Can I flip several lines?

Yes. With upside down text the order of the lines is reversed too, so the whole block reads correctly when turned around.

Can I flip numbers?

Yes. Digits 0 to 9 are swapped for rotated look-alikes; 0 and 8 look the same, and 6 and 9 swap places.

Can I turn upside down text back to normal?

Paste the flipped text into the box and copy the Upside down row again. Flipping twice returns most characters to the original.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The text is flipped in your browser and isn’t sent to SocQ or saved.

Is the upside down text generator free?

Yes. It’s free with no signup and no limit.
